On June 24th, Microsoft talked about “What’s next for Windows” and unveiled Windows 11, the next major version of the Windows operating system that puts a strong focus on hybrid work and learning. Microsoft confirmed that Windows 11 will be a free update for all Windows 10 users, noting that it will be released for the 2021 holiday season and early 2022. Some rumors fueled by Intel documentation also point to a late October release.
But you don’t have to wait that long. Microsoft is already testing Windows 11. Three major “builds” of the operating system were released for testing as beta versions at the time of publication.
